Alternatives to ManyChat in 2026, for People Who Want to Own the App

Oleg Krasikov5 October 2026AlternativesPricing

Ten clients on ManyChat is ten ManyChat accounts, each billed on its own. On Pro, the first plan with WhatsApp and their AI, that's $390 a month before any of them grows, $990 once each client has 5,000 people writing in, and $1,615 at 10,000. It's the bill that sends agencies looking for alternatives to ManyChat.

Chatfuel SDK runs the same ten clients in one workspace for $225 a month, with $250 of AI credits in it and no meter on the people who write in. I set those prices, so read this knowing that.

The short version:

  • Chatfuel SDK bills one workspace for every client: $225 a month for any number of bots, every module and every channel included. Contacts aren't metered.
  • ManyChat bills each client's account by the people who write in: $39 a month for 2,500 on Pro, $99 for 7,500 on Business. Ten clients are ten bills.
  • At ten clients that's $225 against $390 at 1,000 people a client, $990 at 5,000 and $1,615 at 10,000.
  • The SDK writes the whole app and hands it over: your name, your domain, your price.
  • Seven other ManyChat competitors start between $19 and $189 a month. Six of them rent you a seat in their app. Chatwoot gives you the source of a support inbox.

Chatfuel SDK, the alternative to ManyChat you own

The SDK is one command, npx @chatfuel/wizard, that writes a React app wired to a Chatfuel bot: the inbox, contacts, deals, bookings, broadcasts, Instagram publishing, the AI agent and automations on seventeen entry points. The code is yours under MIT. Your name and logo go on it, it runs on your domain, and you charge your clients what you like.

The AI agent answers DMs on Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok and the web widget by itself, from one knowledge base, with its own rules for each entry point. ManyChat's AI Replies, the agent that answers DMs from your knowledge base, is Instagram-only and in beta. On their other channels the AI is a step you place inside each automation, with its context typed into that step.

It's billed as one workspace. $20 a month for one bot, $100 for three, $225 for any number with a $250 balance, up to $2,050. The balance pays for AI tokens, $2.75 per million read and $16.50 per million written, and two cents for each conversion event reported to Meta. Fixed replies to comments, the inbox, contacts and deals don't draw on it. The app runs where you put it: Vercel, your own server or Docker.

Pricing your clients on top of the workspace is its own post:

How to Price a White-Label WhatsApp SaaS: Three Models That Actually WorkTen customers at $99 a month is either a 77% margin or a $1,060 hole, and the only difference is how usage moved. Here's the arithmetic behind the three pricing models.

ManyChat vs Chatfuel SDK, at ten clients

Same ten clients on both sides. Chatfuel SDK is one workspace with ten bots, on Agency M. ManyChat is ten accounts, each on the cheapest plan with their AI that holds its month, with two channels and one inbox seat.

5,000$225$990
10,000$225$1,615

ManyChat's bill climbs with every person who writes to a client. Ours doesn't count them. Agency M holds any number of bots and puts $250 of credits in the balance every month. The inbox, contacts, deals, bookings and fixed replies to comments don't draw on it. The full comparison goes row by row.

Run it for your agency

"What's the best ManyChat alternative for Instagram?"

Chatfuel SDK. Here's why.

  • Six Instagram entry points, each with its own rules: DMs, comments on a post, comments on an ad, story replies, ig.me links and clicks from an ad. Comments on an ad aren't among the triggers ManyChat documents.
  • The AI answers DMs on every channel by itself. ManyChat's AI Replies is Instagram-only and in beta, and elsewhere their AI is a step inside each automation. Ours answers on all five channels from one knowledge base.
  • A viral post doesn't move the bill. A Reel that 20,000 people comment on puts that client's ManyChat account on Advanced, $199 a month. A fixed reply to a comment uses no credits here.
  • Publishing is in the app. Feed photos, Reels, Stories and carousels, published now or queued. ManyChat doesn't publish to Instagram.
  • The DMs land in your client's inbox, under your name, next to their contacts, deals and bookings.

The Instagram page walks through each entry point.

What ManyChat pricing looks like in 2026

ManyChat moved to pricing by active contacts on 2 March 2026. An active contact is one person who interacts with an account in a billing month, however many messages they send. Someone who only comments counts.

PlanMonthlyBilled annuallyActive contactsEach one overChannelsInbox seats
Free$0–25–21
Essential$17$14250$0.1021
Pro$39$292,500$0.0532
Business$99$697,500$0.025all3
Advanced$199$13925,000$0.004all5

Three things the table doesn't say:

  • Pricing is per account. In their words, "each one is billed separately. Pricing is applied per account, not per user." An agency's ten clients are ten bills.
  • WhatsApp and the AI start on Pro. Free and Essential carry neither, so a client with an AI agent is $39 a month before the first contact.
  • WhatsApp template messages aren't in the plan. They come out of a Wallet at ManyChat's own rate card. On the SDK a template is Meta's rate plus 10%, out of the same balance. What Meta charges is its own post:
WhatsApp Business API Pricing: Meta's Rate Card, the Provider's Fee and What Chatfuel SDK ChargesWhatsApp Business pricing, layer by layer: Meta's rate card by country, what eight providers add on top of it, and what Chatfuel SDK charges: Meta's rate plus 10% out of your balance. 1,000 marketing messages are $62.50 in Brazil and $11.80 in India, and from 1 October a reply past the first 1,000 a month is billed too.

Tidio bills for every conversation your team answers

Tidio is live chat, email and tickets in one inbox, with Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp on every plan. Starter is $29 a month for 100 conversations your team answers. Growth starts at $59 for 250. The AI, Lyro, is a second plan: $39 for 50 conversations, up to $700 for 1,000. Lyro against an AI agent you own, at 500 to 10,000 conversations, is its own post:

What an AI Customer Support Agent Costs: Vendor Prices Versus Chatfuel SDKIntercom Fin, Tidio Lyro, Botpress and Zendesk priced against tokens on our meters at 500, 2,000 and 10,000 conversations a month, with a calculator for your own volume.

Instagram comments arrive as tickets, TikTok isn't on their channel list, and several clients in one panel is Multiproject, on Plus from $300. On the SDK the AI replies to the comment itself, TikTok is one of the five channels, and every client's bot sits in one workspace. Tidio vs Chatfuel SDK.

Landbot doesn't do Instagram

Landbot builds rule-based chat flows for the web, Messenger and WhatsApp. For a US visitor it's $45 a month for 500 chats and $110 for 2,500, then $0.05 a chat. AI chats are counted apart: 100 and 300 included. WhatsApp on your own number starts on Professional.

Instagram isn't on their channel list, and a second client is a second Landbot account. The SDK covers Instagram with six entry points and puts every client in one workspace. Landbot vs Chatfuel SDK.

respond.io meters contacts too, from $99

respond.io is one inbox for Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, TikTok, Telegram, Viber, LINE, WeChat, SMS, email and calls. Starter is $99 a month with five users. Growth is $199 at 1,000 contacts a month and climbs with them to $559 at 10,000; past that it's custom. AI agents start on Growth and run on credits.

Multiple workspaces are on Advanced, and their reseller programme pays 15% to 40% lifetime commission on their own product. The SDK doesn't count contacts, and the product your client signs in to is yours. respond.io vs Chatfuel SDK.

WATI is a WhatsApp inbox first

Growth is $69 a month for three users and 15,000 broadcasts, Pro is $149 with unlimited broadcasts, Business is $349. WhatsApp messages come out of a wallet on top. Instagram, Facebook and TikTok can sit in the same inbox, and Growth includes DM and comment automations for Instagram.

There's no free plan, the seven-day trial only messages your own number, and "white label" appears on none of their partner pages. On the SDK the app carries your name, and WhatsApp is Meta's rate plus 10% out of the same balance. WATI vs Chatfuel SDK.

Botpress builds the agent, not the app

Botpress is a studio for AI agents that run in their cloud. Free holds 25 conversations a month. Plus is $189 for 250, with packs of 100 at $65. Team is $939 for 1,500. A conversation is any exchange where the customer sends at least two messages in the month.

Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger are on their channel list; the comment-to-DM workflow they document is for Messenger. The webchat can carry your brand from Plus, but the dashboard your client signs in to is Botpress's. The SDK writes the agent and the app around it, and the dashboard is yours. Botpress vs Chatfuel SDK.

GoHighLevel charges for the AI client by client

GoHighLevel is a CRM, funnels, websites and a conversation inbox, built for agencies. Starter is $97 a month for three client sub-accounts, Unlimited is $297 with no sub-account limit, and Agency Pro at $497 adds SaaS Mode. The AI is extra for each client: $50 or $97 a month a sub-account.

The desktop app can carry your logo, but their terms say a customisation may not "appear to be independently developed". Story replies are a request on their ideas board. On the SDK the AI agent and story replies come with every plan, and the app is yours. GoHighLevel vs Chatfuel SDK.

Chatwoot gives you an inbox's source, and the servers to run

Chatwoot is an open-source support inbox. The cloud is priced per agent: $19, $39 or $99 a month each, with Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and TikTok from the first paid plan. The free Hacker plan is two agents and 500 conversations a month on website chat. Captain, the AI, runs on credits: 300 to 800 a month by plan.

The Community Edition is free to host yourself, under MIT except for one enterprise folder. What you run is Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, workers, email and object storage, with a release about once a month. The app the SDK writes is one Node process, with no seat price. Chatwoot vs Chatfuel SDK.

"Is there a free ManyChat alternative?"

Chatfuel SDK is free: the wizard, the app it writes and its source, under MIT. The workspace under it starts at $20 a month with $20 of AI credits, and the wizard gives you promo code SDK, worth another $100 of AI credits.

ManyChat's own Free plan is 25 active contacts on two channels, with no AI and a "Powered by Manychat" message on the first one. A ManyChat Free alternative elsewhere doesn't get you much further:

  • Tidio: 50 conversations your team answers a month, and 50 AI conversations once.
  • Landbot: 100 chats a month, no Instagram.
  • Botpress: 25 conversations a month, hard-capped.
  • Chatwoot: two agents on website chat in the cloud, or the Community Edition on a server you run.

The ones that do Instagram stop at 25 to 50 conversations a month, and every one carries the vendor's name.

Which one, by size

  • One client. Chatfuel SDK: $20 a month with $20 of AI credits, every module and every channel. ManyChat with their AI is $39.
  • Three clients. Chatfuel SDK: $100 for three bots, against $117 for three ManyChat Pro accounts.
  • Ten clients. Chatfuel SDK: $225, against $390 at 1,000 people a client, $990 at 5,000 and $1,615 at 10,000.
  • Fifty clients. Still $225, with no bot limit. Fifty ManyChat Pro accounts are $1,950.
  • You want to sell the app under your own name. Chatfuel SDK: the code is yours, with your logo, your domain and your own sign-up.

Corrections go to Discord. A vendor invoice that disagrees with the vendor's pricing page gets the table updated.
